Babies & young children are vulnerable to accidents because they have no awareness of danger and cannot control their environment, they are totally dependant on me when they are in my care to make their world safe. I need to be aware of their safety within my home, when traveling and when out and about. The safety of babies needs particular attention. This is why I always complete and follow health & safety checklists at all times.
I have smoke alarms on both floors and a safety gate on the stairs. I have a fire blanket and fire extinguisher. All plug sockets have safety covers and all kitchen cupboards and drawers have safety locks. There are baby alarms in the rooms that the children sleep in.
